Community Involvement:
Community Leadership has included many years of board membership and committee volunteerism for Cradle Beach Camp. Cradle Beach Camp provided an opportunity to share my expertise in development of recreation programs for children particularly children with special needs. I continued my involvement with children with special needs as a member of the Cantalician Center Board of Directors including a term as president.
In nursing, membership has included the Niagara County Community College Advisory Committee for Nursing. Professional membership includes the Professional Nurses Association of WNY, National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP), and Sigma Theta Tau. I believe it is important to be an active part of the community in which you live in a way in which you can improve the quality of those you live with. As a nurse, it is essential to support your professional organizations to continue your own growth and support your peers.
Special Interests/ Hobbies:
Hobbies include knitting, skiing, and reading. My favorite pastime is spending time with my husband Jim and our families.
Favorite Quote:
“Do not follow where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail”.
Favorite Children’s Book:
The Velveteen Rabbit
What’s On Your Playlist?:
“At Last” by Etta James and any music by the Beatles and Four Seasons.
Why Did You Choose Pediatrics?:
I have always enjoyed spending time with children because they are “real”. I love their curiosity and energy! Providing primary care to children and their families provides me with an opportunity to contribute to the emotional and physical health of our future adults.
